Saint George's is the result of the efforts of a group of concerned, committed lay people. Deeply troubled by the drift from traditional orthodoxy of the Episcopal Church at both the national and local level they were seeking a way to remain authentically Anglican. After much prayer and study the group approached Bishop Mark Haverland of the Diocese of the South of the Anglican Catholic Church about the possibility of founding a parish in Fayetteville. The result of that meeting was the founding of St. George’s Anglican Church. The inagural services were held on the 13th day of July in 2003 at 8:00 a.m. in the F.I.L.I. (Fayetteville Independant Light Infantry) Building. Services are now held every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in the facilities of St. Michael the Archangel Maronite Catholic Church.
